Under the Land Drainage Act 1991, Section 40 all occupiers of agricultural land and/or buildings within the Board District are legally obliged to pay Drainage Rates.

Drainage Rates are issued annually and the financial year runs from the 1st April to 31st March.

Drainage Rates are due on demand and payable in full. The Board will exercise its legal powers for non-payment of Rates.

Payments can be made by Cheque, Cash or BACS. We now also accept Debit/Credit Card payments either in our offices or over the telephone. There is a small surcharge for payments made by Debit/Credit Card.

Both Ryedale District Council and Scarborough Borough Council pay Special Levy's to the Board in respect of domestic and commercial properties.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO INFORM THE BOARD IF YOU BUY OR SELL ANY AGRICULTURAL LAND OR

BUILDINGS IN ORDER FOR YOUR DRAINAGE RATE DEMAND TO BE AMENDED.
